Dear MLE School Participants,

on behalf of the organizing committee of the "Machine Learning in Engineering (MLE) Summer School 2022" I want to welcome you to this in-person event at Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH). The MLE summer school 2022 is the first of its kind at TUHH and is being organized by the team of MLE@TUHH in collaboration with colleagues from DASHH, DESY, and hereon. MLE@TUHH is an interdisciplinary research initative at TUHH with 100+ members that want to foster research and collaboration in the are of machine learning for engineering and related applications.

Over the course of two days we offer a comprehensive program to M.Sc. students, Ph. D. students, and postdoctoral researchers that are interested to learn about machine learning (ML) methods, tools, and applications. In three parallel tracks we present lectures covering the foundations of ML as well as use cases and hands-on workshops that will enable you to use ML effectively. We are very sure that our program has something to offer both for the experienced as well as for the beginner - regardless if your field of research is in engineering, the natural sciences or computer science.

But let's not forget that a summer school is also about networking, getting to know new people, and having some fun while doing so! Poster presentations by our participants (including a poster contest), a social event on the evening of September 13, and a career + networking event on the evening of September 14 will make sure that you will have many new contacts and opportunities for collaboration afterwards.

As mentioned, the MLE Summer School will take place in-person on the beautiful premises of TUHH in Hamburg. Considering the current pandemic situation we are looking forward to an event without any major restrictions. The event is free for M.Sc. students, Ph. D. students, and postdoctoral researchers but requires registration using the links provided on this website. Please note that there are only a limited number of places available and that there is a deadline for registering. So make sure that your register early on!

Hope to see you soon at TUHH,

Christian Schuster

PS:

The MLE Summer School has the MLE Days as partner and immediately following event (September 14 & 15). The MLE Days will allow participants to learn about the latest research by MLE@TUHH and its partners and are specifically intended as an open forum where academia meets industry - and vice versa.

The MLE Days 2022 take place in-person at the same venue as the MLE Summer School and are open to all school participants. Please note that a separate registration is required on the MLE Days website.
